This year, it’s even bigger than ever! They’re taking the “Tie That Binds” conference on a MARRIAGE RETREAT to Seeker Springs in Eros on May 4, 2013!  And, joining College Place Baptist Church in hosting this year’s conference is First Baptist Monroe!

You can look forward to hearing the message of “knowing the ropes in TEAM: MARRIAGE” that Christian author Debra White Smith and her husband, Daniel, will be bringing and anticipating an amazing worship time with Lorica, College Place Baptist’s praise band.  Guests will enjoy a Ropes course to apply this concept of TEAM: MARRIAGE and some amazing guests will be giving their testimony to encourage folks!  The conference ends the day with an OUTDOOR MOVIE THEATRE, showing the movie: “Marriage Retreat” on the JUMBOTRON!!

So much fun, all of it is centered on the one goal of focusing our hearts on having a Marriage that imitates Christ!  He truly is the only TIE that binds us together, His love is perfect and He longs to teach us to love like He does!  It is the conference’s prayer that anyone attending meets the beautiful saving grace and passionate lover of our souls Jesus Christ while they are there…if just one comes to know Him…we will have been used for eternity!

CASA kids in Northeast Louisiana have the chance to go to summer camp at Northeast Louisiana’s well-known Christian-based “Camp Ch-Yo-Ca,” and we’re asking for your donation of $10 or more towards sending ALL the the kids during the week of July 4th!  What greater way to celebrate our nations independence, and to bless foster kids in our community, than to see them get to unwind in a fun-filled, Christian environment!  You can visit the camp at their website, at campchyoca.com, and be sure to watch the video at the bottom of this page!

What is CASA:

CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates. They train community volunteers, called Advocates,  who are also appointed by judges to watch over and advocate for abused and neglected children, as well as to make sure they don’t get lost in the overburdened legal and social service system or languish in an inappropriate group or foster home. They stay with each case until it is closed and the child is placed in a safe, permanent home. For many abused children, their Advocate will be the one constant adult presence—the one adult who cares only for them.  Training classes are conducted often, so if you think you might be interested in becoming a CASA or want more general information, please call 318-398-0945.  Learn more about them online by clicking here.

Sharathon 2013 is in the books!  We need to take a moment to thank the amazing team of volunteers who came in and helped us out all week!  They did everything that needed done with a  positive attitude;  answering phones and – most importantly – they prayed!

We also want to thank you.

None of this would’ve been possible without you!

Over $128 thousand dollars was pledged in support of our broadcast ministry and community service efforts.  To those of you who are already a part of the giving family, as well as the folks who just started supporting the station last week, we will never be able to thank you enough.  We appreciate you, and will do our very best to do the most ministry we can with your donations.

Here are a few highlights from 2012:

• Installed a new transmitter which allowed us to stay on the air with much greater consistency.
• Collected nearly 1100 pair of shoes for those in our listening area who struggled in deep poverty.
• Donated over $100,000 worth of air time to churches, ministries and other non-profit partners.
• Prayed with thousands of people on the phone, on the air, and online for many different needs.

This year – we have a couple of significant projects we hope to begin work on:

• Purchase a generator for our transmitter site to ensure we stay on air through power outages.
• Develop apps for smart phone users and programming urban and suburban youth with the Gospel.
• Bring even more Christian concerts into the Monroe and Ruston area for families to attend.

The cost of these projects is actually over and above the operational needs for equipment maintenance, music licensing and streaming royalty fees, utilities, insurance, staff salaries and rent – along with the required engineering and legal consultation necessary to run a broadcast facility scrutinized by the federal government.  We have a steward’s mindset with the resources that are generously given to us; each expense is carefully reviewed by our board of directors.  Yet, costs continue to rise and opportunities for ministry are plentiful.  Therefore, we’re ready to stop surviving and start thriving as we work on our main mission: spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ and encouraging families in their daily lives.

The Miracle Tour takes its name from Third Day’s brand new studio project, Miracle, that released in November 2012. Filled with a simmering brew of potent rock anthems infused with the substantive, life-affirming lyrics that have always been the bedrock of Third Day’s music. At the same time, the band explores new sonic and lyrical territory on Miracle, with layered guitars and harmonies, sing-along gang vocals, and so on – not heard from the band previously. The band’s signature rock foundations remain; they’ve just been infused with a modern-day flair. And the band is excited about showcasing their newest music to their fans:

“We have toured for so many years and feel like we owe any success we have to the fans that built Third Day,” says drummer David Carr. “These songs are engaging musically and lyrically; we worked hard to stretch ourselves for the people who come to our shows and buy our music.
